Whenever the topic of Medical Marijuana comes, the most popular misconception is that it is more an excuse than a drug. But in the recent past things has changed drastically and with the 23 states passing laws and making it legal to use as a medicine has suppressed the old myth. Now people of these states can use prescribed Marijuana.

Now when a popular drug like Marijuana becomes legal, it is bound to have some kind of opposition stating the harmful effects of Marijuana. The opponents believe and advocates stating it to be an easier deal for those who uses it for other things rather than medicinal use. People can easily avail them legally and this might have negative effects on the population.

Now the point is we need to know the facts before we conclude anything. In some recent research, it has been stated that there have been mixed results as far the improvements are considered for certain medical conditions. Although the statistical numbers are not that promising other trails shows excellent improvements in patients undergoing chemotherapy as it reduces nausea and vomiting.

In some other research, it has been found that it reduces the pain in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. Many also argue that it is too soon to make it legal as it should only be used when there are no other options or therapy left. Marijuana helps people suffering from anxiety by relieving stress but at the same time, it also failed in many trails in disorders such as dementia, epilepsy etc.

In some cases, it has been useful, but in the majority of cases, there were no major improvements. On the other hand, there are side effects that can harm the individuals taking it. Side effects include dry mouth, nausea, disorientation, etc. Due to these side effects, it is really a tough ask. There is also a risk of young adults misusing it when these are easily available and there is no law to stop it. Hence it is better to get the best of Marijuana and avoid side effects. This can only be achieved by research and trails.

There are many types of research going on all round the globe finding ways to make it more suitable for all populations by diminishing the odds of side effects. Still, there is a long way to go for Medical Marijuana to be in the mainstream.
