A town hall meeting was recently held and the hot topic of discussion was legalization of marijuana. There were many parents who wanted to give the drug to their kids over present there, and asked active questions and seeking answers.

A pool held by Franklin and Marshall recently showed that almost 84% of people in Pennsylvania were in major favor of legalization of marijuana. This was an overwhelming majority that supported the drug. On the other hand, it was interesting to infer that there were merely 2% people who opposed it. The topic of marijuana legalization is a debatable one, and the legislators of the state held town hall meetings for people to come together to talk about it.

Regan asserted that when public would realize that the drug is just a medicine, which would help sick people, then things would become a lot simpler. Mike Folmer, the senator, who had earlier legalized the medical marijuana, was also present in the meeting. The fact is that the marijuana plant has been used for over thousands of years for medicinal purposes and only in the last 70 years the value has been discounted and the use does not happen. Most people used to be against legalization, but after they have spent time understanding the properties of the drug, they have agreed with the thought of legalizing.

There was no one in the meeting who opposed the legalization of the drug. There are many parents whose children were sick and could be cured with the drug. They were also keen on getting the cure as soon as possible.

Michael and Angela have a son aged 12 years old who has epilepsy. While the wonder drug can be efficiently used to cure the ailment, due to easy availability of cannabis, they had gone through a number of treatments, but have not been able to get any benefit out of it. Chris Ferro stated that he just wants an opportunity. They have asked the legislators to give the medical drug to doctors at least if not to them, which appears to be a very valid demand.

They are not any skeptics of legalization, but there is a lot of politics behind the act. People feel that they are not 100% in favor of it even though the vote for the legalization has been overwhelming. They also want the same opportunity in legislature. Cannabis/marijuana cancer cure and other health benefits have certainly compelled people to consider the legalization of cannabis across the world.

And, hopefully this Town hall meeting would also help the cause in the longer run, so that the parents of young children suffering from seizures/epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and cancer could give proper treatment to their kids.
