The biggest trade show, which is one-of-its-kind for the cannabis trade industry, recently took place at Las Vegas and the demand has shown a considerable rise since the time such shows started about fifteen years ago.
As of now, Southern Nevada is in the process of licensing medical marijuana dispensaries, which as a fact might be driving that high interest. In the year 1999, The Champs Trade Show, which happens at the Las Vegas Convention Center, had just 30 vendors, who were mostly selling incense, glass pipes, and a few candles. However, the show this year has over 600 vendors selling varieties of hemp and cannabis products, which could be on sale at the local medical cannabis dispensaries.
Vendors say that a lot of business deals are taking place at the three-day show trade show.
“We set up a ton of distributions already,” said Jason Golec with Haenep Source. “We got stores ready to go and people even got pre-orders.”
Golec and his company, which is based out of the Southern California, are hoping to stock up the medical marijuana dispensaries of southern Nevada with CBD based products or commercial hemp.
These products consist of various items like energy drinks, vaporizer pens, and even some chews, which are not considered as marijuana, but still will be on sale along with the drug once the dispensaries open up.
Andrew Hard along with Hemp Meds is looking forward to do something similar with the smoke products edged towards medical marijuana patients.
“People think medical marijuana is roll up a joint and you are going to smoke it out the window. The industry has advanced so far beyond that and people don’t understand,” he stated.
The trade show’s organizer stated that with more number of states legalizing medical cannabis, he is expecting the trade show to rise and grow like never before. For this very year, he hopes to generate nearly $4 million in sales.
Colorado has already witnessed amazing growth ever since the legalization of cannabis during the beginning of this year, generating state tax revenues in the tune of over a billion. And, looking at the medicinal benefits of cannabis, alongside the boost in state revenues, the other states are also following the suit.
And, Vegas could certainly be the most happening place to make the most out of the full potential of weed.
