Enormous Wild Cannabis Plants Discovered all Over the UK
Apparently the lucky residents of the British Isles seem to be overrun with wild growing cannabis. After all a few weeks ago hikers in a park in London discovered a small clearing full of marijuana which may have been wild growing or was possibly apart of someone’s grow-op. Furthermore several months ago an elderly woman, Patricia Hewitson, contacted the BBC’s gardening program The Potting Shed asking about a mysterious shrub growing in her yard. The bit of flora as it turns out was a five foot high cannabis plant.
On air one of the programs hosts, Sarah Chesters, said “I knew immediately, not because I’m an expert but because I have come across the plant in a professional capacity… it is a cannabis plant.” And Chesters also added, “I’m afraid you are growing an illegal plant so we’ll have to do something about that.” Sixty-five year old Hewitson admitted that she had a “slight suspicion as to what it was but didn’t really know”. Fortunately though Hewitson will not be charged for the “crime” of accidently hosting a cannabis plant in her garden.
And in keeping with this trend more large and wild cannabis seems to be cropping up all over the British Isles. Another “very rare”, large strain of cannabis was spotted and documented growing in Scotland of the coast of Doon. According to The Mirror:
“It’s pot luck it has taken root but a cannabis plant has been discovered growing wild at a popular beauty spot. The amazing find was made by a horse rider who couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The two-foot high plant was discovered on a sandbank at the mouth of the River Doon, Ayr.
It has been growing all season, boosted by nutrition from seaweed and weeks of dry, hot weather. Experts have described the find as “very rare indeed” and police say they have never come across anything like it in the area. The horsewoman said: ‘I thought I was seeing things and took a photograph. Everyone I showed it to knew what it was straight away – it was unmistakable. It must be a very plucky bush indeed because it is the only one there.’”
Of course the police haven’t given away the plants exact location and have had the shrub destroyed. While this particular case is unusual for the local police, some law enforcement do suspect that there could be more wild growing ganja out in the countryside.
