Planting and growing Marijuana (Cannabis) is a very methodical process, though not difficult. It requires thorough knowledge which in this context refers to having a clear mind with regards to the use of Marijuana, to be able to grow it right. Selecting the strain

Selecting the right strain can be the most difficult part. It is same as looking for a needle in a hay stack. There are more than 2000 types of strains available out there, each unique and different. The more common are feminized seeds and auto flowering seeds.

The right seed

Finding the right seed is most crucial for getting your purpose fulfilled and clearly knowing what you want to use the seed as “Indica” (used only for inhalation/smoking) or “Satvia” (it involves using more of the stringy plants which gets you onto Cloud 9 faster. The other uses are hash, white, and blue.

Germination process

Germination requires an ideal balance of darkness, water, and heat. These seeds are sensitive to over exposure and imbalanced soil. The most confusing and disastrous part can be not having the right kind of soil. The soil needs to be germ, bacteria, fungus, and worm free as all of these can harm the seeds. The soil needs to be a decent mixture of shredded coconut husk, perlite, and garden soil.

Germination technique

Most people, who grow their own Marijuana use the “Paper Towel” method, as elicited below:

Place a paper towel on one a plate or any flat surface and sprinkle water until it is damp. Place the seeds on this, leaving a little place between the seeds for them to be able to germinate freely. Take another piece of paper towel, dampen it, and place over the seeds and cover with another plate or surface.
The seeds can germinate at a temperature between 20 to 30 degrees Celsius and will germinate within 48 to 72 hours. Make sure to keep checking them at least 2 to 3 times per day to make sure that the paper does not get dry. (you can sprinkle more water if it needs).

Planting

The last part, is planting the germinated seed so that it becomes a plant. The seed needs to be placed about a quarter inch into and covered with a thin layer soil. Keep the soil moist by spraying some water twice a day. The only thing to really take care is placing the seed with the germinating shoot downwards.
