Pueblo County and the marijuana stakes
In the face of opposition, Pueblo County has a positive attitude towards marijuana politics. The concerned authorities have been praising the wholesome weed for engendering jobs and earning big dollars to help local economies. Let figures talk. Of the Colorado $1 billion and more of marijuana incomes in 2015, $20 million came from Pueblo County. A recent petition would like to ban the marijuana business and solicits voter appraisal in November. The petition wishes to stop the grant of licenses to new marijuana businesses by November 8 and to halt such businesses in Pueblo County by November 2017. The petitioners do not want to stop the industrial hemp business though. The City of Pueblo banned marijuana trade, but continues with cultivation, medical dispensaries and cannabis based products. The Pueblo County public approved these in 2012 with 55 % voting in favor.

With marijuana dominating the media limelight in recent times, people have realized its intrinsic merits. If the public supports such a policy, things would work out fine as in many American states that have realized the truth for quite a while. The argument of this activist is that you should be able to grow your own cannabis. If that is possible, nothing else stands in the way. Yet the authorities should allow it.
