Marijuana companies should shoulder responsibility

With marijuana seeing the light of day, after many decades in darkness, the industry is refreshingly new! A plant worthy of dreams and amazing cures, nothing could be more popular or exciting. Regarding business potential, the sky is the limit for governments and individuals as laws become more liberal by the day. Oregon is having it good and states that approve both the medicinal and recreational cannabis are on top of the world. Yet many people seem to be forgetting that legalization came after long duress. Legalization has been built on blood, sweat and tears that continued for years.

Now that people are getting rich and losing themselves in a world of euphoric dreams, it would be necessary to remember the long struggle. Besides, marijuana companies should follow a code of ethics and deliver the goods appropriately in all fairness. That is the least they could do by way of duty towards the consumer who fought long and hard.

How many American states will vote for marijuana in November?

Since we all know what happens in November, eager pot enthusiasts are gathering signatures and aiming for the ballot come November. As November approaches by the hour and the minute, it seems quite certain now that the three states are guaranteed to vote. Nevada approved the ballot in November 2015 and wishes to make cannabis legal for adults 21 years and over. An excise tax amounting to 15% would be levied if the vote comes through to support school education courses.

Florida collected 693,000 signatures and supports medical marijuana for devastating medical causes. Maine would also put together the medical marijuana ballot in November for recreational cannabis. If Okayed, the excise would be fixed at 10%.
California is close to saying ‘yes’ to a recreational marijuana demand. Supporters gathered close to 600,000 signatures though only 365,000 were required. Eight further states are still going through the process of accumulating signatures to strengthen demands. Arizona wants recreational dope. Arkansas is well on the way to gathering signatures to support the medical marijuana movement. Massachusetts is on the trail of recreational marijuana. Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota and Oklahoma are also gathering forces and regulations together for the big fight.

California contemplates taxing medical dope growers

Taxes on California medical marijuana could fetch $77 million each year that would help the police and the environment. Some people maintain that the taxes are very high. The senate has approved a 15% sales tax though local governments levy only a 7.5% tax. The California bill wishes to collect $9.25 for an ounce of marijuana flowers, $2.75 for the leaves and $1.25 for small plants.
