There are many legalization policies introduced in the law. There are U.S. representatives and the senators who have given their support to the usage of Marijuana. The support is done in public and thus there is a lot of support for the legalization. But congress always sits back in supporting for Marijuana policy. Using this weed for recreation is legalized already. When the votes were taken for supporting the usage of this weed there was at least 60 percent of voting for legalization. The support for the usage of this weed has started from the past decade. The support is from the public but not from their representatives in the senate tells Paul Armentano, deputy director NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws).
There was support from congress for the marijuana legalization-related policies. They support the policies which will decriminalize the weed. They always want this weed to be used for medical purposes. There are many states where the senators have given support to form marijuana policies without much federal intervention. There are representatives and senators giving more vocal opposition for reforming marijuana laws and thus received an `F` grade from NORML. But many of the other senators give support and so the scorecard shows a majority.
There are 270 representatives and 60 senators though did not give any vocal opposition gave support to form their own laws. Such people got passed with a grade `C`. There are many opposition party people who have received the `C` grade for supporting Marijuana policies. 92 percent of democrats supported but republicans count was only 37 percent. There are many other problems which are worrying the congressmen like health, job and terrorism. They have given lesser importance to the marijuana policy reforms as the other problems are sometimes uncontrollable.
There are people who are taking initiatives to change the drug policy. Some are taking parades with the supporters on roads. Some are using their political power to legalize the weed. Many people in the medical field do agree that this weed has helped many of the patients in different ways. The pain of some patients reduces and some of the cancer patients have improved by using this weed. They have good examples and such people support legalization of the Marijuana policy. When the federal law is not helping in legalization, there is a lot of confusion. The discussion is always on between the people and senators which have lots of positive and negative points.
