In few US states, the use of cannabis is legalized. It is legalized only for medical use in some of the states and in few other states it’s fully legalized for cultivation, sale, and transportation. Here are the top 10 states, which use cannabis and the type of usage of cannabis varies from state to state and in terms of quantity also.

  1. Colorado: With just under 400,000 grown users, 10.49% of the people use cannabis.

  2. Washington: There are 532,000 users in Washington among which only 10.49% adult people use this cannabis drug.

  3. Oregon: The cost of weed in this state is very less. And the total amount of using marijuana is very high here. From the total population of Oregon, 12.48% users are from adult population. This state is considered as the most legalized for using marijuana

  4. New Mexico: It is legal for medical usage only in this state. The percentage of marijuana usage is 7.19%. When it comes to price, it falls under the 5th cheapest in the country. It stands in the first position in Facebook awareness.

  5. Maine: When compared to all the states, which are on the list, the state Maine is considered to be having the highest price for a drug. And this falls under the 17th cheapest in the country.

  6. Alaska: From the past month, the usage quantity is increasing. As of now, 13.01% of the Alaska population is using cannabis for both recreational and medical purpose. Out of the total population of Alaska, around 68,000 people over 18 people used this drug over the last month.

  7. Massachusetts: With 475,000 population, 9.26% of the adults use this drug.

  8. California: With more than 2.5 million population, California must have the highest usage rate. But surprisingly, this state comes in 10th place.

  9. Vermont: Over 64,000 adult users have been recorded throughout the past month; 12.89% of the people can be named marijuana users.

  10. Rhode Island: From the total population of Rhode Island, which is of 107,000 people, 12.91% of the people can be called as marijuana users. College students are driving up the overall percentage of the state when it comes to pot smoking

As the 2016 elections completed, this drug was changed from “Schedule I drug” to “Schedule II drug”. Going further, we hope to see many more useful changes for the use of cannabis in all the fields.
