Are you aware of the person called King of Cannabis? Yes, you heard us right – the man is a Dutch cannabis entrepreneur named Arjan Roskam. He is a founder and owns many cannabis businesses like Green House Seed Company, Strain Hunters, The Green House Coffee Shop, and many more. In the business of cannabis, Arjan is named as a self-styled “King of Cannabis”. He was crowned with the title King of Cannabis in the year 1990 because of winning cannabis cups almost 38 times.

His main vision is to make the world know about the positive effects of cannabis around the world. He often tries unique techniques to promote cannabis. He faced many challenges during this promotional weed activity.

In earlier days, many of the coffee shops used to sell only imported weed like Thai or Jamaican weed. The growers from all over the world were mostly interested in growing and importing high yields and small flowering weeds. Arjan started experimenting with the haze strains in the year 1985, which was gifted to him by one of his friends. But the main problem with this plant was they took a long period to flower and growers were not much interested in these weeds. Another reason is that these weeds are very expensive.

Arjan started convincing coffee shop owners to buy haze weed, which he started cultivating. Most of them did not agree with him, so he thought of opening his own coffee shop in the year 1992 which was called “The Green House”. The very next year, he won the High Times Cannabis Cup. After winning the Cannabis Cup so many times, finally High Times published his picture on the front cover of the company magazine.

Through this advertising, many smokers came to know about him and they started visiting his coffee shop to sample the cannabis weed cultivated by him. Even celebrities started visiting his coffee shop The Green House. They used to take and pose for pictures. Arjan used to hang the pictures on his shop walls.

By using the message of normalizing cannabis by A-List celebrities, Arjan’s message started reaching out to the world. There are several other cannabis businesses for which Arjan Roskam is the owner. He started educating the people around the world through many YouTube videos, and he also won an award for his cannabis documentary.
