Can synthetic marijuana replace the real thing?

Spice is the name that represents the street drug that claims to be synthetic pot! Overdoses have already occurred and Skid Row swears by it. What is it actually? We know about the opioid crisis and the many overdoses that regularly happen. Los Angeles County in the USA witnessed as many as 400 deaths due to opioid overdose in the years between 2006 and 2013.

Now synthetic marijuana seems legally safe as an alternative to the much abused natural cannabis, but then we did a lot of manipulation with the strains to produce mighty potent ones. Possibly a variety of herbal formulations mixed with chemicals could copy the effect that marijuana produces. Yet the National Forensic Laboratory Information System does not agree, claiming that of over 34,700 reports of seized drugs in 2014, only 86 contained synthetic cannabinoids. Methamphetamines occupied the first position.

Cannabis may be getting obsolete

One user referred to Spice as being more potent than cannabis besides being addictive. Claiming that a single Spice laced cigarette is as good as three of the marijuana stuff, he believes that 80% of the youth under 30 on Skid Row have become addicted. He referred to the obsolete cannabis that could no longer be called a gateway drug now.

The Drug Enforcement Administration agrees that certain fake marijuana products are not in the list of controlled substances. DEA reports that the fake marijuana impact could include seizures and elevated blood pressure. The effects could include violence and suicidal tendencies, kidney problems and a rapid heart rate. It seems that the fake is best avoided. Embrace the real thing.

What’s What With Weed

Rethinking Access to Marijuana (RAM) organized WWWW in Los Angeles County. Easier access like in Colorado leads to higher use in ages 12 to 17. Thus, the kids faced greater dangers. Research indicates that over 3000 teenagers try pot every day for the first occasion. Researchers believe that the young brain is put at risk and results in weaker school work. Dropout rates increase. Besides, verbal and cognitive skills are impaired through the dope habit.

According to National Institute on Drug Abuse, adults run a 9% risk of addiction while the danger stands at 17% with the teens. Nationally speaking in the USA, 72% of kids used marijuana in cases where parents also used it while 20% of kids used the stuff where patents did not use it. Access carries greater risks of abuse as proved by Colorado state since 2014 when legal recreational cannabis was allowed.
