Planning on growing some weed of your own but unsure about the watering process? Marijuana is a sensitive plant and its growth depends on the type of soil it is grown on, the type of light it receives, and the way in which it is watered. So today, we will be sharing some tips about carefully watering your marijuana plant.
1) You need to maintain the pH level of the soil. Overwatering and under watering can badly affect the same. The visual signs would be damaged and misshaped leaves along with the growth of fungus. But there will also be other effects that you wouldn’t be able to notice directly.
2) Make sure that you have either pH strips or a digital pH tester to help you keep track of this. The ideal pH of water is between 5.8 and 6.5 whereas the ideal pH of the soil is to be maintained between 6.5 and 8.5.
3) Too much of water will deprive the roots of oxygen which will make the plant droop or make the roots change its color. Never let it come to this point. Also, overwatering deprives the plant of nutrients and minerals and the roots are unable to absorb them.
4) Follow the simple rule of the scale. Take a ruler and insert it inside the side of the pot. If it comes out dry without any soil sticking to it then yes, it is time to water your plant. However, if you are going for cultivation then you might want to create a proper watering schedule in order to get a good harvest.
5) If you have overwatered the plant then you will have to search for rotten roots and remove them, transfer the plant into another pot with right pH balance in the soil or cut the plant as there is no other alternative left.
6) Under watering the plant will also make the body droop and the leaves to fall out, only here the leaves will be shrivelled up and dried. You can rectify this situation if you identify it at the right time and start watering it appropriately at regular intervals.
