Initial state of cannabis growth: From womb to childhood
Knowing the mechanism of formation of product helps understanding the stages of challenges and difficulties for the product. The life cycle of marijuana involves multiple stages in its journey from spreading to seedling to sapling. After these critical stages are crossed, the plant gets healthy enough to overcome many obstacles that may come its way
Unaffected cannabis seeds
In sexual reproduction, like every offspring has two parents cannabis plant also constitutes the genes from both male and female parts in its seeds. The exception to this is when seeds are produced by a hermaphrodite plant.
A dehydrated plant lays inside the waxy coat of the seeds which if left unexposed to the necessary elements grows old and dies. This is because these seeds can’t survive forever (although some seeds keep better and longer than others). But when it meets the moisture and warmth it sprouts utilizing the store of calories present alongside the tiny plant to start its journey outside the enclosed seed. This is called the endosperm.
Cannabis seeds are resilient enough to lie dormant for sustaining well in dark, cool, and stable temperature environments. They are most likely damaged if exposed to low temperatures before the necessary moisture and heat.
Germinating seeds
Light and heat act as the catalysts to activate certain hormones in the tiny plant and kick start the germination process. As this happens, the outer shell splits opens and a petite root starts growing down. Simultaneously, a green soft shoot will protrude upwards carrying two baby leaves called cotyledon. As a sprout, these two parts become root and shoot meristems which grow into taproot and stem plus foliage respectively.
Cell division occurs at meristem making it even obvious on how these plants grow bigger at both sides. The meristem cells both in root and shoot are almost identical. The stimuli they are exposed to make them grow differently in different positions.
Moisture sprout seeds
Moisture is an important factor as it may eventually allow fungus to grow over the seed or cause sprouting prematurely. Both of them could be due to over exposing to the moisture. They can prove to be unfit for the growth of the plant. The little plant inside the shell captures the moisture through micropyles in the seeds where the moisture seeps inside from. The warm plant when intakes moisture grows out of the seed and pops out to reach a state where it needs regular heat water and air to bloom as a plant.
The stages that follow are what happen after the plant has come out of the tightened shell where it was suffocated for long. Once it sees the outer world it’s good to decide its own direction with essential nutrients being supplied or found in time to or by the plant.
