Are drug cocktails better or worse?

The topic has grown important enough for presidential candidates to include in their agenda during the present campaign. The candidates wish to leave the matter to individual states, and a majority of the 50 have legalized medical marijuana already. Like liquor prohibition ended long ago, marijuana prohibition is on the way out sometime soon.
