A new study that was recently conducted has shown that medical marijuana has properties that help to kills the cancer cells in the body and also help to cure some serious brain tumors.

The National Institute of Drug Abuse in the United States had recently admitted a publication on cannabis used for medical purpose, which has been revised. This revised publication states that the drug offers some advantages to patients suffering from cancer.

Some researches on animals have showed that the extracts from marijuana that is used for medical purpose help to kill the cells that can cause cancer and also help to decrease the size of tumors.

A study on animals has revealed that the some of the extracts that is got from the whole plant of marijuana can help to slow down the growth of the cancer cells that can eventually culminate to form one of the most serious and fatal tumors in the brain.

Some of these studies and researches were conducted on a deeper level on rats. The results demonstrated that when the extracts of medical cannabis were used along with some form of radiation, the effect of killing of cancer cells was increased.

The term medical cannabis is used for the whole unprocessed plant. The same term is also used for the basic extract of cannabis that is used to treat any particular symptom or disease.

At the moment, medicinal cannabis has not achieved the status of a medicine according to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) of the United States and is still referred to as a drug.
