Medical Marijuana Bill Passed in Michigan
As per sources, on Tuesday, the Missouri State House has finally passed a bill, which will serve the purpose of legalizing medical marijuana. This will permit patients to use medical marijuana and get all the benefits of smokeless marijuana now. But, the patient must have crossed the age of 18 to use it. All those who suffer from illnesses such as glaucoma, seizure, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, AIDS, Crohn’s disease, HIV, colitis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, posttraumatic stress disorder, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and other deadly diseases, which don’t get healed with medications can now take medical marijuana in Missouri. The bill 1554 has now headed towards the Senate.
Registration Cards for Medical Marijuana
People will be required to take registration cards for medical cannabis and get medical marijuana only after obtaining this card. The condition to take the card is that the person must be a Missouri resident and should have crossed 18 years of age. He/she has to submit a statement stating that he/she is suffering from a debilitating disease and the statement must be duly signed by a doctor. This statement should also serve as a proof that marijuana has been the last resort as the patient has already considered all treatment options before.
As per media, this measure has been partially introduced in the state outside of the legislature to legalize medical marijuana in response to the ballot initiative. Lawmakers are pushing deep research on medical marijuana at the national level. The measure was introduced last month by Rep. Matt Gaetz to ease out the research on medical marijuana. Bob Goodlatte, the chairman of House Judiciary Committee has signed to co-sponsor the legislation. However, in response to it, the research on medical marijuana has been slowed down by the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Some or the other kind of marijuana has got legalized in around 30 states and D.C., whereas in 9 states and D.C., its recreational use has been allowed. Going down the lane, this miraculous drug is expected to see legalization in many more states so that patients suffering from chronic illnesses can benefit from its amazing results.
