A Chat with Morgan Freeman
“They used to say, ‘You smoke that stuff, boy, you get hooked! My first wife got me into it m any years ago. How do I take it? However it comes! I’ll eat it, drink it, smoke it, and snort it! This movement is really a long time coming, and it’s getting legs—longer legs. Now, the thrust understands that alcohol has no real medicinal use. Maybe if you have one drink it’ll quiet you down, but two or three and you’re fucked.” Who said all this? You would never guess: Morgan Freeman, in an interview he recently gave to the Daily Beast. It looks like Mr. Freeman is definitively a pot lover.
He also added, “Marijuana has many useful uses. I have fibromyalgia pain in this arm, and the only thing that offers any relief is marijuana. They’re talking about kids who have grand mal seizures, and they’ve discovered that marijuana eases that down to where these children can have a life. That right there, to me, says, ‘Legalize it across the board!’” Now we also now the actor uses marijuana to deal with his pain, and that he believes everyone who needs it should be able to access medical cannabis.
“And what negative effects does it have?”He continued. “Look at Woodstock 1969. They said, ‘We’re not going to bother them or say anything about smoking marijuana,’ and not one problem or fight. Then look at what happened in ’99,”when the 30th-anniversary of the event (not exactly cannabis-friendly) resulted in riots and arrests. Another great point here: repression was not the solution in the 1960s, it is not the solution now and it will not be the solution in the future, especially when we are talking about a plant, marijuana, which has been part of human cultures for centuries. This is not some kind of synthetic drug produced in a lab, one of those powdery white substances, crystals or stinky pills that destroy your brain and your body. Marijuana is a plant, and it can have enormous health benefits, just like Morgan Freeman said.
If you can do it, go online today, buy the cannabis you want (make sure to choose the right strain, and forget about lies and stereotypes. The world doesn’t seem to be ready to welcome the truth, but you certainly can, because your mind is the only thing that can really stop you.
