Obama and Congress are too nervous on Marijuana Reform

As per the reports and discussion burning over issue of Marijuana, support to prohibit use of Marijuana is building in country. Thus there is need for change in reforms.

According to sources, in year 2014 in order to make use of marijuana legal states such as Alaska, Oregon and District of Columbia voted out to join Washington and Colorado State. Next year Nevadans would vote along with residents of Ohio. A policy should be formed so that the effects on use of marijuana can no longer be seen. It has almost affected millions of lives and also incurred loss in dollars. Thus, federal lawmakers should come up with a firm decision and strong policy. Some of the states have legalized recreation of marijuana in a few legal territories. In short it is a kind of activity which is considered a federal crime and it is legal in some states also. It’s a kind of paradox situation.

What Congress is doing?

Congress has taken up some strong and firm steps.

It would approve a provision that would stop the justice department from utilizing federal funds to keep state alive in cultivating marijuana.

Some Senior Republicans such as Mr.Grassley and Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah have supported for the medical usage of a compound known as cannabidiol, that is found in cannabis plant and it is not psychoactive.

For scientists to study on marijuana Obama administration made it easier as no additional review process would be needed.

Congress and White house both should stretch and marijuana should be removed from controlled Substances Act where it is into classification of schedule I drug which includes other drugs like LSD and heroin. These drugs are considered to have no medical value. Thus, by removing marijuana from act and this would not make it legal everywhere, it would help states to decide how they want to use it as per their mass.

For 2015 ballot, some Californians are trying to get legalization measurer for marijuana. All states are not uniformly welcoming legalization efforts due to which congress need to brain storm more. In Ohio some activist wants to legalize cultivation of marijuana and that also on commercial level. This would lead to monopoly of business in some states.

Congress and president both needs to come up with a neutral drug policy and take into consideration overall states along with health of humans.
