THE GREEN GOLD WINS THE WORLD OVER
The 2016 Michigan Medical Cannabis Cup
The exciting ongoing competition on June 11-12 at the Auto City Speedway has a range of CBD flower entries, edibles and concentrates. It is a reminder of cannabis popularity and high quality through diverse strains that have now brought previously warring people together. On humanitarian grounds for all those sufferers out there, let us pray that medical cannabis is legalized the world over.
Zambia had better legalize cannabis
Clement Tafeni, presidential candidate of the Green Party says that legalization of marijuana could bring an end to poverty in Zambia. Lawyer Tafeni believes that Zambia could earn 36 billion US dollars through marijuana revenues. That money would be six times greater than the copper production revenue. The Zambia situation has millions of unemployed who have no hope of a decent college education. The result is alcoholism and drug addiction, leading to imprisonment. By getting rid of prejudices, Zambia should allow medical marijuana, which will not be opposed to the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act Section 9 that recognizes medical marijuana.
What are the effects of daily marijuana use?
Research now thinks that a person who smokes cannabis every day would have brain activity distorted. Such an interference with the brain reward system could be connected to several problems. Family problems form an important concern. If marijuana use continues in spite of the problems, it would lead to dependence. Thus the power to make positive decisions and maintain healthy relationships could be altered. From the recreational to the addictive, the brain activity as measured by Magnetic Resonance Imaging could find the truth. The research surveyed 59 marijuana users and 70 non-users, who were first shown images connected with marijuana and others like vegetables and fruits. The first set of users showed more activity in the mesocorticolimbic reward system when shown the marijuana associated images, compared to the non-users.
The Governor signs the bill in Ohio
Gov. John Kasich put his signature on a medical marijuana law in Ohio. With almost no fanfare or publicity, the signing was announced along with other bills that he signed into law. Since 90 days must elapse, marijuana would be legal in the beginning of September. Patients would be protected against marijuana possession charges, but would need a written doctor’s prescription to use marijuana. Buying dope at a dispensary may still take a year. Kasich was earlier opposed to medical marijuana, but changed his stance later. Ohio becomes the 25th American state to pass the medical marijuana program. You cannot smoke it or grow the plants at home in Ohio, but state licensed shops will sell oils and tinctures, edibles and plant material.
