The magic of marijuana beckons globally

Michigan tries successfully so far for legalization

The November ballot beckons to the entire nation of America and Michigan is aiming too for the marijuana issue to be resolved in favor of legalization. Recreational marijuana is the issue here and the group has collected enough signatures by the Wednesday margin to qualify for the ballot. Maybe they will succeed but that remains to be seen several months away.

The Sante Fe reminder

The order pertains to the banning of marijuana in all its forms like use or possession in the Santa Fe National Forest. Forest Supervisor Maria Garcia prohibited medical and recreational cannabis in the 1.5 million acre forest. The forest is located in northern New Mexico. Reminders are necessary of course, though prohibitions always existed under federal law. Misdemeanor could be the charge for possession instead of arrests.

After the Toronto police raid on marijuana dispensaries…

It would be so much simpler now to legalize marijuana that is expected to come soon anyway, perhaps by next year in Canada. Ninety were arrested besides the 257 charges in the raid on illegal pot outlets last week. Now millions of dollars would be spent in the court cases! Toronto Police Chief cites health concerns for the raids and the fact that some were located close to schools. Figures of opioid deaths and addictions are alarming. A week on the opioid is said to become an addiction. Marijuana would be a safer and better substitute. Both are painkillers.

Besides Canada, maybe Australia would enter the global marijuana map!

AusCann is a promising marijuana business in Australia and the Canadian origin Canopy Growth Corporation is collaborating with them. Canopy also acquired 15% of AusCann. The Australian start-up does require an experienced guide to their course of operations. Tweed, another Canadian business, also delivers consultation services to AusCann in terms of production and quality. Meanwhile, the Australian government is busy with the process of organizing medical cannabis policies and regulations. The Australian medical cannabis market may be similar to Canada. Yet the date is far away in 2017 when Australian patients may hope to get their legal cannabis.

Have you heard of Nirmal Saund?

It happened in England! Belonging to the realm of fiction, this drug lord owned a 200 million pound cannabis kingdom. At 62, Nirmal pretended to be a businessperson while he actually cultivated marijuana in as many as 19 industrial complexes. After the heavenly business tactics with a nephew and associates, Nirmal received a 10-year jail sentence. The fine? 2.2 million pounds! He was warned by the Judge that he would face extended jail sentences if he did not pay the fine. Do you see any irony in that?
