Marijuana is one mind-altering substance and the first timers often act weird after trying it. The human mind is difficult to understand and since everyone is different marijuana hits everyone differently the first time.
It is also a psychoactive substance, so depending upon what you expect before having it, alters your actual effect or ‘high’ as you call it once you consume. Often if people in your social circle who consume it look peaceful and calm, it motivates you to try it just out of curiosity.

In USA, few states tried to legalise the sale, purchase, possession, cultivation and transportation of cannabis for recreational purposes. Following the election results, Florida officially announced medical marijuana to be legal followed by North Dakota and Arkansas.
