Legal or Not, Pot Is Forever Hot!
While legal battles continue with too many in favor of the lovable weed for recreation besides supposed miracle cures, what is the truth behind cannabis? Something that has been consumed by sages for thousands of years and rose to eminence during the flower power revolution of the 1960s! Even Obama had said something to say when he reminded Americans that other stronger issues exist rather than legalization of pot alone. That may be true but the world still cannot understand why pot should be banned when it is shown that tobacco and alcohol are far more harmful. Pot never killed anybody like tobacco and alcohol did but may be habit farming and addictive.
The opposition to legal pot
New York State has stood its ground against legal weed with the claim that it would erode culture. NYC holds an annual event since 2012 with the clarion call to make marijuana legal! The Oregon legal marijuana takes off beginning July. Several other states like Alaska already enjoy the pot highs. In Washington DC you can legally carry small quantities of marijuana. As can be unimagined with the heated debate, several committees are at work but marijuana may not become legal in NYC in the immediate future.
Known effects of marijuana
Now the news is making the headlines that marijuana intake in heavier doses than a few puffs would result in weaker memories. The haze of smoke does carry that danger besides putting you to sleep and promoting a voracious appetite. Concentration is loosened and so it would be risky to drive or operate machinery. Nothing wrong with losing yourself in a dreamy stupor for several minutes or hours according to the dose and situation…
The Colorado success story
Among the first states to legalize pot for recreational purposes, Colorado looks forward to a thriving marijuana industry! Untold profits wait for growers and retail sellers and a system to regulate prices and taxation would streamline the trade now that it has come to stay. Yet Colorado findings indicate the large potency in terms of THC that gets people mildly intoxicated. The traditional view was that THC would be around 10%. The Colorado legal marijuana has 18.7% while some varieties contain 39% and beyond according to research sources. What is wrong with that when some marijuana medications contain trace doses? A greater high would be the result resulting in higher addiction rates but no, it will not kill or maim unlike heavier drugs.
