Over the weekend of September the 13th, more than 13,000 people visited the Spanish northern coastal city of Irun (Expo Grow). For three days they enjoyed views of the Bay of Biscay, the delta of the Bidasoa river and of course the puffy white clouds floating about on the sunny weekend. Some of those clouds might not have been full of water however, as the annual ExpoGrow fair had come to the town, bringing along hundreds of Marijuana industry vendors and thousands of interested visitors.

Throughout the day visitors could see all of the products that were being shown off at the fair. Lollipops full of THC, vaporizers that fit in the skinniest of jeans, and of course the best marijuana strains that seeds banks across the globe are producing. Expositions like this and the Cannabis Cup series are pivotal to the heart of the Marijuana industry, as the businesses participating are able to show off their talents and products in front of thousands of potential customers.

An Event For All Interests

Expo Grow is not just about a devotion to Cannabis though. The III Social and International Cannabis forum was held again, which included a speech on current cannabis policy and some general discussion. It allowed for a serious consideration of marijuana’s role in a social context, and thinks policy does not reflect public attitude.

Of course artists and musicians were involved in the day as well. Concerts were held at night, and there were plenty of games and activities to partake in each day. It was a good time for all involved in the event and was another successful marijuana festival.

Green House Seed Co. Does it Again

Right at the center of it all was the best in the business, Green House Seed Co. They were displaying their industry leading fertilizer, Power Feeding as well as their Strain Hunter collection of land race inspired hybrid breeds. Arjan and Franco won several awards at the event and were seen in several photos with their carved wooden trophies.

The days were not too hot, but the strains were on fire. This years contest saw some new comer winners, but with Amsterdam’s Cannabis Cup 2014 just around the corner in November, it’s likely that many of the best strains from seed banks are waiting to be entered then instead. That’s not to take away from the fantastic entrants at Expo Grow, but it should be interesting to see what goes on display in November.
