Studies have shown that vaping cannabis may be healthier than smoking, and it’s not surprising that the sale of e-liquids has increased manifold in last couple of years. Buying high-quality cannabis e-liquid can be an expensive affair, and if you are a DIY person, you can actually make yours at home. In this super easy guide, we are sharing more on the process.

Ingredients: Strain of your choice (approx. 5-6 grams), propylene glycol, ethanol or ethyl alcohol, mason jars (two), coffee filter, cooking pot, aluminum foil, and baking sheet. You also need an oven.

Step 1: Decarboxylation

Decarboxylation is the first step in the process. Grind your bud finely and spread it on the aluminum foil, which must be placed on the baking sheet. Now preheat your oven at about 120 degrees and place the sheet containing the strain in it for about 10-15 minutes. This is done to dry the bud completely. Once your weed is ready, place it in the mason jar.

The next step is to pour alcohol in the jar with weed. Make sure you are not using isopropyl alcohol, and pour as much alcohol as required to cover the weed completely in it.

Take the pot and add water. You don’t need a lot of water, so bear that mind. Now place the jar containing weed and alcohol in the pot. Alcohol can catch fire easily, so ensure that the space is well ventilated.
Now heat up the pot, and the aim is to boil ore reduce some of the alcohol in the jar. Stir the mix as you go ahead, so that all the cannabinoids can be extracted from the weed. The liquid will become a lot darker as time passes. Once you have reduced the alcohol to a level that the weed is just submerged in alcohol.

Step 2: Filtration

Now that you have made your mix, the next step is to filter it. You have a second mason jar, which must be covered with coffee filter. Now pour your alcohol-weed mix. If a coffee filter doesn’t seem to be enough, you can use cheesecloth as well.

Next, boil the mixture again by creating a double boiler as mentioned in the previous step. Once the liquid has reduced, you can add propylene glycol. For about 5 ml of your concentrate, you need to add four times of propylene glycol.
Your cannabis e-liquid is ready!
